Pax Christi to host free screening

of Afghanistan documentary

A free screening of the new ground-breaking documentary Rethink Afghanistan will be presented by Pax Christi Memphis at Church of the Holy Spirit at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3rd.

The film was made by award-winning director Robert Greenwald and Brave New Foundation. Greenwald directed Outfoxed, Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, and Iraq for Sale.

October marked the eighth anniversary of U.S. operations in Afghanistan, and the administration is currently assessing the military’s future involvement. General Stanley A. McChrystal, the top U.S. and NATO commander has called for increased troop levels, while many Americans are wary of a prolonged engagement after years of combat in Iraq. Pax Christi hopes the film will provide insight into the effects of the war and what ongoing operations will mean to the region, its people and to our nation as well.

The public is invited to attend this free screening. Church of the Holy Spirit is located at 2300 Hickory Crest Drive in Memphis. Pax Christi meets the first Tuesday of every month.
